Having said that, I have to admit how cranky I am this morning. After having enjoyed an eon-like three day weekend, I am back at work. So is everyone that had the last two weeks off. And they all feel the need to greet me with a, "Happy New Year!" preface before whatever it is they came up/called to say in the first place.
For some reason this is insanely annoying to me. Everything is annoying to me. Why? I don't know. I *do* know that '05 was REALLY craptastic on more than a few levels, and I am grateful to give it the boot. I was almost relieved at 12:01 AM.
"WHEW. Let's try this again," went my internal soliloquy.
And I don't really know what this is, but it was around the 5th page down on a Google Image search of, "New Year,"

So there you have it. Chickens in front of some tree surrounded in...mustard? Lemonade? (I am specifically avoiding saying pee, because you can't have a complainy post AND discuss pee. It just wouldn't be prudent.)
So, while I am grateful for my health, I am also grateful this whole '05 mess is ovah.
My appologies for the complainy post.
And in a slightly related vein, do you know what the sound of a kitty in heat is? More specifically a kitty in heat being forcefully propositioned incestuously by her brother? More specifically still, a kitty in heat being forcefully propositioned incestuously by her brother at specific intervals throughout the night?
Oh, you don't?
Well, that's ok, because I do. And it sounds like Satan himself came up from the seventh circle of hell and inhabited Hijinx (girl kitty, pictured here with Wilson who, in an odd twist, was a sleeping angel the whole night)
and tried to sing, "You're so Vain," by Carly Simon (I don't know why, that's just what it sounded like), but what came out was Satanic warbles sounding like, MREEEEWWWWW mewwwww MEEOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWRRRrrr!!!!!!! (insert personal imagination here).
Satanic warbles at 4:30 AM.
But I can't figure out why I am so cranky.

I strangely know what it sounds like for someone to be forcefully propositioned by their brother.
I think that painting means 2006 is the year of the Mustard Chicken.
Let's hope the Mustard Chicken is good to us all...
That was the most entertaining "complainy" post I've ever read. :D Tee hee hee...you said, "pee".
I get annoyed when it seems as if EVERYONE is saying, "See you next year!" in the last week of December. Yes. You're very clever. I don't believe anyone's said anything quite so clever! REALLY, I HAVEN'T heard that seven times already today. You're the very first to say it...honest! ;P
HDD - Can you make some mustard chicken? To roast the new year?
(Get it?!!!?! ROAST?????)
LOL! You crack me up Idle! :D
Sorry IR, that was my deletion. I seemed to have put my comment on the wrong post :P I'm experiencing all sorts of difficulties today!
Its a circle of trust. We're all friends here.
I'm with you on being grateful that 2005 is finally over! It was a crappy year for me too. I know what you mean having that sigh of relief at 12:01. Only, I was a little impatient & celebrated it at 11:01 (it was the New Year in Puerto Rico so that counts).
I really enjoy all your posts!
